ANGER

How do you deal with uncontrollable anger? Need Answers?

The damage left by anger

A lady once came to Billy Sunday and tried to rationalize her angry outbursts. “There’s nothing wrong with losing my temper,” she said. “I blow up, and then it’s all over.”

“So does a shotgun,” Sunday replied, “and look at the damage it leaves behind!”
Billy Sunday.

LIfe has a way of dealing us disappointments and frustrations that could easily lead us into a state of anger. The bible warns us of the destructive outcome of this emotion if not dealt with properly.

Eccl 7:9 Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools. NKJV

The word of God does not hide some of the side effects of this toxic emotion. I submit to you that the scripture states that anger is a motivating factor with the foolish and anger will not produce true righteousness.

James 1:20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. NKJV

Here is a bible account of how ANGER can quickly escalate to worse things if not brought under submission.

Genesis 4:3-12 3 And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. 4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, 5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. 6 So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” 8 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

The reality is there will be times that we will be tempted to get angry. The question is how do you deal with it? Do you take out your frustrations on the ones closest to you? Your family, wife, kids or a close friend? Are you in control of your anger or is it controlling you? Let’s be honest with ourselves.

The Hope God has given us is in our text in verse 7 “but you should rule over it”. In other words God has given you a free will to make the proper choice. Maybe you have been ruled by anger so much and so often that you feel powerless to change. If you will choose to come to Jesus Christ He can give the you the power over this sin and many more sins.

Jesus has destroyed the power of sin and the devil at Calvary’s cross so you could be truly free in your heart. If you would take a moment and confess and repent of your sin and put your trust in Jesus Christ then you can start to experience God’s gift of salvation.

Say this prayer “Dear heavenly Father I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. I confess that I am a sinner. I ask that you would forgive me of my sins. I‘m ready to repent and put my trust In Jesus Christ. Thank you for having mercy on me a sinner. In Jesus name Amen.
