As a leader in the Coastal Bend, you no doubt understand the pressing need for young people in our community to be trained as leaders.
We need your help to send some local teens to The South Texas Believers Boot Camp from June 7th – 11th, 2021.
Pastor Richard Rubi, of The Door Christian Fellowship Church of San Antonio, came up with the idea 26 years ago to challenge teenagers from the ages 13-18 to pursue God instead of just coming to church.
Pastor Rubi said, “We started (1993) with 36 youth and it developed to this. We accept applications and it is open only two weeks. We limit 300 youth but could easily get 600. This is not a correctional or punitive camp. It is a leadership camp. We are preparing kids for leadership.”
The boot camp is a week-long physically, mentally, and spiritually challenging camp for teenagers. Payment deadline is April 30th.
Would you consider sponsoring a teen? The cost per teen is $250. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated. We would also like to provide the clothes needed for the teen if the parent is unable to furnish the clothing. That would be an additional $50-$100 per teen. In addition at the end of the summer all church teens are invited to an area wide teen rally for 2 days. If we raise enough money then any additional money will be used to provide transportation to take the teens to the rally, rent a hotel, and provide food during their stay. We estimate a total cost of $3,000 or more for everything including boot camp and the rally.
